More Photoshop editing

I knew I needed to use more colour in my work but wasn't sure how.  I'm not great with paint/ colouring and finding a visually pleasing 'composition' of colours.  In my pitch, I wrote that I liked the composition of bookshelves.  I took photos of my bookshelf as well as the shelves in a few bookshops.  An element of postmodernism is looking at the same thing in a different way (I think I wrote this in my proposal).  So, I put the photos on photoshop and added a 'cutout' effect to them.  I edited each one with the sliders because I wanted to exploit the colours that the bookshelves created.

For the next set, I added an additional effect called 'extrude - pyramids':

Overall, I was quite happy with the results.  Each bookshelf has it's own unique colour composition and the sliders really help to exaggerate/play down the effect; some still look like bookshelves whilst one or two just look like shards of coloured glass.  Though I don't have a photo to corroborate the point, some of them remind me of Zaha Hadid's planning work; she does them on the computer and they often look like shards of coloured glass.  The angular edges are also reminiscent of Daniel Libeskind's designs:
