Working from 'Grids, Layers and Reflections' continued

I haven't posted anything for a week so I'm making up for it now.  I worked on the slotting idea that I was talking about last week and ended up with a design that I really like:








As you can see, I used a combination of sheet metal, photographs, card and coloured paper to decorate the different slots.  Because this was a small, experimental piece, I wanted to try everything and I have found that despite the random quality of it all, it actually looks quite effective, running with the theme of postmodernity being about a collection of different things grouping together.  As I have written in my journal, I would like to develop this design in an architectural sense, possibly by making each piece into a self-contained box with the slot fitting in from floor to ceiling.  I also experimented with adding words onto the design.  (I wrote them on acetate):
